7 Valentine’s Day Ideas You’ll Both Love

Dublin/ 12 February 2016
Back to list

St Valentine’s Day is almost here and if you haven’t got your date night sorted yet, you could be in a spot of bother. But we’re here to help, with these great ideas for Valentine’s Day dates in Dublin:

1. Adventure

Why not add a little adventure into your romance? It doesn’t matter if you are not normally the outdoorsy type, doing something different and unexpected can certainly spice things up. We’re talking about clay pigeon shooting or if that sounds a bit loud, get on your Dublin Bike.

2. Fine Dine

OK, how about a more traditional date – a romantic dinner for two in Citron Restaurant? Check out our Valentine’s Dining Menu and other offers at the hotel.

3. Escape

Here’s something you have never done before but we guarantee you’ll like it: Escape is just around the corner from the hotel and is “Ireland’s premier escape game”. Basically, you have 60 minutes to escape from a mysterious, locked room. Well, we said it was something you have never done before.

4. Love Dublin

If, like us, you love Dublin then you’re really going to like this idea: Download our exclusive podcast and go on an incredible 30-minute walking tour of Dublin with Donal Fallon from the Little Museum of Dublin (and author of the famous “Come Here To Me” Dublin history blog) as your personal guide. We’ve had great feedback from guests on this so go on, try it.

5. Culture Shock

It’s almost embarrassing just how rich Dublin is, culturally. From Kilmainham Gaol to the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), the National Gallery of Ireland to the Gaiety Theatre, we’ve got museums, galleries, theatres, performance venues, concert halls, buildings, communities and little-known arts treasures that any city anywhere would be proud to have on their doorstep. Luckily for you, they’re all on ours.

6. Go Wild
OK this is a little corny but we’ve never heard a complaint yet: Go to Dublin Zoo. Seriously. It’s simply excellent.

7. Sleepover

Of course, there’s nothing more romantic than a night of complete luxury in a five-star hotel like the Fitzwilliam Hotel Dublin. Add in afternoon tea and full Irish breakfasts and a late check-out the following morning and everything’s coming up roses. We’ll even include them. Book here.
