In the heart of Dublin 8 in an area called The Liberties, you’ll find this amazing market that celebrates food culture from around the world. There’s also ethnic dance, yoga workshops for adults and children and live music.

Def Leppard

With more than 100 million album sales worldwide – including two of the best-selling albums of all time – Def Lepard is one of rock’s most enduring and influential bands. They will be in Dublin’s 3Arena on December 1st and you might find tickets here.

At noon on Saturday December 2nd the Santa Dash will once again take place in Clontarf, by the sea. You can choose to run 5k or 10k and the organisers will give you a Santa suit to run in so you fit right in with the hundreds of other Santas!

ESB Great Christmas Concert

For over two decades the ESB Great Christmas Concert has marked the start of their Christmas season for thousands of Dubliners. It’s on in the iconic National Concert Hall, as always, on Thursday 6th December at 8pm. Get your tickets here.

This has become a huge thing: there’s a fab line up this year, including Hozier, at this massive Christmas party. It’s all happening on the evening of December 14th at the 3Arena down on the river and is aid of the Irish Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Tickets here.

Dublin is home to Leinster, the best rugby team in Europe and reigning double champions. If you like rugby, or any sports, get yourself along to the RDS and watch Leinster take on Connacht on Saturday December 22nd. Or see them play Bath in the European Champions Cup on the 15th in the Aviva Stadium.

Gaiety Panto

A true Dublin institution, the Christmas pantomime at the Gaeity Theatre this year is The Snow Queen. As always it will be a fantastic mix of song, dance and laughter and you can book your tickets here.

New Year’s Eve Festival

Every year thousands gather in locations all over Dublin city centre for “the ultimate New Year’s Eve party”. It’s an incredible music and arts festival starting at 6.30pm on December 31st.
